Theatre. Drama. Imagination. It’s these principles on which the art of fashion is built. So when we come across a label that embodies all of these and more, we welcome them with open arms to the BLOW family, get a bit emotional about their pieces and then bang their drum all over town.

Case in point, New Delhi-based womenswear designer Amit Aggarwal and his line MORPHE – the latest addition to the showroom and already a firm favourite of ours. Ranging from the commercial to the conceptual, Amit’s designs offer something for everyone – whether that’s a wearable, contemporary take on an asymmetric Grecian gown, or a sculptural, avant-garde dress that doubles as an objet d’art.

Evoking an immediate and emotional response, his intricately pleated pieces are so beautiful they border on visceral; a real testament to his design vision. Each garment is hand-finished to a standard that is so rare in young designers elsewhere – the significance of which he no doubt picked up from working closely with the renowned Tarun Tahiliani.

It’s this kind of attention to detail that caught not only our eye during India Fashion Week, but also Bloomingdales in Dubai and Galeries Lafayette in Istanbul where he’s currently stocked. His breathtaking architectural pieces have also captured the imagination of Vogue, Elle and Marie Claire who have all touted him as one to watch. Mark our words, the boy’s set for big things.
